Creaking Front Leather Seat

Hi Guys,

In the last few months the front passenger seat makes a creaking noise when someone is sitting in it. It is only noticeable when driving around at slow speed cornering. I have leather seats. I feel this should not be happening considering it never made any noises in the first 8 or 9 months. Is this normal as the seat ages?

W.Child, had the exact same thing in mine mate. Just take it to your dealer and ask them to fix it. Easy enough to do, infact I took mine into the dealer and was driving the ford dude around to show him the tailshaft noise, and he suggested that my seat was too creaky so offered to take care of it

Good luck - atleast its not the tailshaft

our rear drivers side door makes a creak when it is leaned on.

Glenn, I know exactly how to fix that one, all my doors have done it as some point.

You need to take the door trims off. There are a couple of screws (in the door release lever, 2 inside the handle, 2 at the bottom of the door, 1 on outside edge of trim).

Once the screws are all out, the door trim pops off. Remove the power window connector, and remove door trim.

You will see a large bit of foam that covers the door. It needs to be tucked under all of the metal clips at the top of the door, near the glass. It works its way out over time.

Use a set of multigrips to grab the edge of the metal clip, pull it away from the door, tuck foam back in, and release the clip. Make sure all are like this.

Re install door trim, squeak gone.

10 minute job. Easy

Which dealer?

I've had this problem for 2 months now. Dealer on the Nth Beaches in Sydney has had 2 attempts to rectify with no such luck! :nyaah:

I knew I could not have been the only one.

I got my dealer to fix it and it was great for about 2 days then it came back again.

Mine is just out of warranty now and am looking for a better solution to fix it.

I was thinking that I would take the seat out and drown it in CRC and grease and then put it back.

Has anyone else had any luck or can point me in the right direction of exactly what the culprit is?

Thanks

Brendon

I've got the same problem with the drivers seat. Only just started happening the other day. Gonna see if I can get under the seat and spray up. Haven't had a look yet but I assume that there is a cloth covering under the seat?

Any ideas how to remove the covering without damaging it?

I have the same problem, with the leather of the drivers seat rubbing on the plastic side part of the seat. Drives you insane!! :spoton:

As a temp measure, stuffed a piece of cloth between the leather and plastics, so they don't rub. Works perfectly but need to find a more discreet solution.

Has anyone actually done that ^ did it fix it?

Sounds exactly like my drivers seat has only just started doing.
