lol ,I actually dine that to the wreck I got the engine out of .tried to get the crossmember of but was unable to get the bolts undone .so then I decided I would take the steering rack of ,undone all the hoses the turbo heat shield and more. then I found out I was unable to take it of unless I unbolted all the link itches ,so I gave up on that .then I got a bigger wrench to undo the crossmember which worked .had to use a crowbar to lower it ,but was only able to lower it 25 mm . now I hope that that was enough .WHY did I not just buy a new car ,this is just crazy to swap from v8 to turbo 6 . there is not a single thing that is the same ,I have taken just about the whole car apart and swapped over 80% of the wrecked car parts .there is just no end to it lol . :loser:

going to give it one more go before I give up . might give one of the mobile mechanics a phone call to give me a hand . just realised that I am out of my comfort zone ,and I need a professional to do some of the work for me .after 3 month I am starting to think this was not a good idea to do . so far I have only had a bout 3 hours of help from friends ,the rest I done all my self .

What makes you think a mechanic is gonna be of any help.

I take it you have the bonnet off.

How about jacking up the rear of the car and leaving the front where it is.

I have done E series and that takes a bit of jiggling. Sometimes even taking the harmonic balancer off might help but one thing I know I will never split the engine or gearbox to get it in. It either goes in one piece or I don't want to know about it.

Many times if you don't get the angle right you have to use a bit of manpower and lift it over the radiator support panel.

Also alot of those levelers can get in the way when you try to get those big angles you need so it does all need to be setup to be able to get the right angles.

Its far easier to split the box, go buy a couple of extension bars and an articulated attachment, once you've done it once its not too hard just fiddly . I had the rear of the car jacked up to the highest the stands allow with the crossmember sitting on the ground and engine on full tilt and it still wouldnt come out without damaging the car.
