Sometimes even taking the harmonic balancer off might help but one thing I know I will never split the engine or gearbox to get it in. It either goes in one piece or I don't want to know about it.Many times if you don't get the angle right you have to use a bit of manpower and lift it over the radiator support panel. Also alot of those levelers can get in the way when you try to get those big angles you need so it does all need to be setup to be able to get the right angles. luke187 Member 297 Member For: 11y 21d Posted 20/05/14 06:46 AM Share Posted 20/05/14 06:46 AM Its far easier to split the box, go buy a couple of extension bars and an articulated attachment, once you've done it once its not too hard just fiddly . I had the rear of the car jacked up to the highest the stands allow with the crossmember sitting on the ground and engine on full tilt and it still wouldnt come out without damaging the car.
