If previous models are anything to go by you would assume the xcal4 will upload tunes quicker than it's predecessors.

At that price how much will the previous model retail for? Or will it cease to be offered by distributors?

Given the new model is cheaper? I'd say the same.

Maybe a few boxes get discounted to clear out remaining stock, but I doubt there'd be any reason to continue supplying them.

With Fords new global vehicle lineup coming to Australia in particular the 2015 Mustang in a couple of years, this will mean that a "AU" calibrated XCal device may not be needed.

If that's the case, Australian distributors of the X3/X4 might have trouble selling it for $620 when it can be sourced from the US for US$400 (A$426) excl p+h.

It's starting to become a buyers market, and $150 is enough of a saving to get customers buying the products overseas.

In saying that there will probably be a "not to be shipped to Australia" agreement put in place by SCT to "protect" Australia's margins, I mean market.

If the cards are played right, I could be the last to buy a x3

Doesn't have the same 'punch' as being the first at something though, does it!

OK then, so have they fixed up all the little teething problems with it already?

If so, and Herrods are happy to release them for sale, should I be talking to my tuna (read up a few posts if you've just joined the conversation) about using the new x4?

Only if you want to pay an extra $670?? with no real gain over the unit you already have.

Personally - I'd be waiting a while and letting others be the guinea cops
