(no alarm and or immobiliser in those days)What steps if any , are enthusiasts doing today ???

Funny thing is that it had no engine in it and they did it when I was at work. They told my neighbour that they were friends of mine and asked if they could give them a hand to load it on there car trailer
Spinning Donating Members 348 Member For: 15y 7m 29d Posted 07/05/14 09:20 AM Share Posted 07/05/14 09:20 AM There was a lot of that happening years ago ... Hence , I asked if everyone has taken additional steps to protect their car from being trailered away .. Years ago , we tried everything , parking the caravan , boat , anything in front of the car to bolting the chassis down to the garage floor . I remember when I had the XW GT , it took me longer to get the thing out, battery and distributor cap on,front and rear wheels than the drive itself once the car as out ... I would expect if this question was asked of owners of XW and or XY today, that practice would still be employed .

Not a simple part to find when trying to steal a car.
Spinning Donating Members 348 Member For: 15y 7m 29d Posted 07/05/14 10:38 AM Share Posted 07/05/14 10:38 AM My wife , then girlfriend , would always complain about having to carry the rotor button and a few spark plug leads in her handbag . Well one day on a outing at the Melbourne Zoo .... We came back , after a great day, found that they broke into the car , but could n't get it started ... So they left it there ... Never heard any word from my wife from then on !!!!

Will probably sh*t me to tears eventually but at least it was professionally done. I've heard of original Walki's being chained & still tried to be stolen. Also know a guy that had an R8 ute pinched in broad day light 2 blocks from a cop shop. Witnesses & everything. Saw a guy stand there for a few mins, the car opened & he got in. 5 mins later he started it & drove off. No broken glass, no screwdrivers & no forced entry 0_oOnly thing for sure is that the testical's on thevies these day's are getting larger Edited 07/05/14 12:29 PM by FiftyOne
