Hi guys ive recently purchased a g6et, and it came with sat nav. its controlled through a remote and I dont know if it came stock with the car.

I purchased it privately and im the 3rd owner.

Also if it is or isnt, the maps are somewhat outdated and if someone knows how to update it I would really appreciate it.

Thanks alot!

Hey there,

I had the satnav with remote in my old 50th Anniversary. I remember the pre-delivery guy installing it when I went to go and pick the car up. It came with a "Whereis" (Sensis) map memory card in dvd style case. The memory card was inserted into a slot in near the tunnel on the passenger side footwell. You can buy updated maps, but in all honesty at $199 they are a rip off. You are better off getting an aftermarket GPS (Not Garmin though- they are sh!t!!) that comes with lifetime maps.

Thanks for the reply Clutz, im almost certain that's the same as mine. is there any other maps I can load and put in the sd slot?

seen some on ebay for 15 dollars. the satnav program actually lets you select which maps you can load im pretty sure.

Mate I have a g6et and I have a galaxy note 3

I just run Google maps off that

Up to date maps and it's free

Plus you can run torque which is my favorite app by far

That's my setup and works perfectly for me

Not sure if this would work but I'm keen on maps too, anyone know of we can all chip in to buy a genuine card, then someone can copy it to a generic $10 card from jb hifi and post then out. I'm keen but not sure if it will work? Would work out a lot cheaper if a few people were keen to do this....
