hi just would like some feed back about the turbosmart e boost street ,I have bought one so I can run two boost without having to change tunes from my sct flash while I am driving .I have also found out I got to spend another $160 for a autometre tach adaptor so that I can hook up a shift light and rpm sensor wire to the boost controller .so my question is does the boost controller gain me any benefit at all using my sct flash tuned by elite .I will have to get my ute retuned due to mods I have done to the turbo . just would like to know if it helps them to tune the car as well . thanks for info

I have used the eboost street for over a year in the same way you have mentioned but without a tach adapter. It's not crucial to have an RPM pick up but it is beneficial if your having boost drop off problems or want to hook up a shift light. You can adjust the boost for small mods to save you getting the tune touched up.

Not sure if the ecu's in our cars really like external boost control. The ecu's deal with it through the bosch bleeder on the actuator. There are predefined boost maps in the ecu that calculate all sorts of things, as well as compensation calcs in the KAM. Might be more hassle than its worth.

Depends if it's been tuned in closed or open loop boost control... If you try and throw too much boost in then it codes will come up, or might even go into some sort of limp mode, but if your using it so you can run the boost that it has been tuned for and then another setting which is lower then, you shouldn't have a problem.. My 2cents anyway

I hate phoning elite about all this stuff ,I have already asked a lot of questions and they have just given me short answers (they must get a lot of tyre kickers ) I have never dealt with them ,but the wreck I have bought they have done most of the work on .only ever horde good comments abut them .I might just get the boost controller hocked up by a auto electrician because of the coil packs ,when I get the tach adaptor

I just really don't see the point bud tbh

Your better of letting the computer worry about boost and switch between the tunes on your xcal or just run on a "high boost" tune

I've got 363rwkw on 98 at 18psi and I regularly see 8L/100km on the highway

So I don't really understand why you would want one?

Because oldschool?
