Im not overly concerned with taking receipts to them as if I need anything fixed on the car, it'll be going straight back to the Expensive Daewoo dealer, im just unsure if they'll try to weasel out of it or not, I mean lets face it its very rare a turbo will go at 2500rpm on a sunday cruise, just curious if anybody else has had a run with em and not fared so well.

But are the turbos known to blow or do you never really hear of it?

Not really an issue with the turbo, its more the POS filter ford installed. Either bin it or install the earls kit. First mod I did. Turbo in mine died whilst it was with the dealer prior to my purchase, at 80 000k. Installed the earls kit within 5k of owning it and found the factory unit appeared to be the original one still blocked with gunk. Was oil in the old line so obviously not completely blocked.

Hard to believe they would spend thousands replacing a turbo and not the filter. But frauds mechanics aren't exactly err....mechanics...

Hey guys,

I have done the same thing and got the extended warranty because I was worried about the turbo. This is really the only horror story I've hear of, how good is that earls kit?

The woman said I can cancel it to get money back , yes.

Currently taking car back to dealer soon to havebrakes looked at and the power source at the front of the car next to the aux plug fixed, not 100% on ghe power source issue yet, intend to check the fuses tomorow and see if that 'll fix the issue with that anyway, the brakes on the car also started to squeak an awful lit on the day I picked it up, where as the problem wasnt there when I took it for a test drive 3 days earlier.

If your cars going to cover lots of KM's and you drive it heaps it may help also imagine if you will keep the car for the long haul, but then again warranty is like gambling if you think of it, FG's do have a few common faults that come up here and there, but then again like mentioned you can just use that $2000 on fixing things yourself.

Just make sure you ring up and ask about all the fine print on your AHG Warranty, example the fact that you are not allowed to service your car anywhere other than AHG, even before the AHG Extended warranty comes into play, otherwise it's void. Ask as many questions and if the deal doesn't cut it for you, cancel it get a refund and spend the money on injectors and a tune.
