just undo the diff it self one one side (u bolts )and then have a look at the bolt that goes thru the spring .the bolt is not that thick ,only about a m8 or smaller from memory .the locater is on the top looks like a dome shape and the bolt ,bolts up from the bottom I think . (will have to hold with a set of vice grips ) .the bolt may be broken of inside of it . its about one and a half years ago when I did that .(had to take spring apart to fit the tonne rated spacers between the springs ) before I could fit the xr springs, or my 16 inch wheels would not have fitted .xr must just be a little different .bugger about the rules for one tonne rated tyres or I would have 18 inch wheels

ps they are load plus from ironman (repco sell them as well ) they are easy to fit .there are video clips on u tube about them if you want to have a look .

It will be the spring pads. When you have the car jacked up try pushing the diff to one side (foot in the middle of the wheel) I'll bet it'll move.
