I went to the expence of having a 'cat delete' straight pipe made , long story short , it was untunable.

The exhaust was too free flowing ( didnt think it was possible) to maintain control of the internal wastegate. A external gate' may have been tunable but I just put the Xforce cat back in .

Grab a replacement cat from xforce and tune the biarch!

Do you have the flapper mod to the turbo. You could punch the core and remove that plate. Or buy a new Xforce cat. If the intake and exhaust are really free flowing , boost control with the std size flapper can be an issue.

yeah I'll be doing the flapper mod

nothing is untuneable, we have tuned cars with no cats before

Mick, you'll be the one doing the tuning and flapper mod, so what would your opinion be?

I honestly don't mind buying a new one, but if you believe I'll be able to get the same or better power out of a gutted cat, then I might as well go down that path and put the saved money towards my valve springs

it will depend on what power and boost etc, but a gutted cat will work marginally better than a good high flow cat, but if you ever need a cat for some reason then you will need to get the car retuned
