I joined the forum this afternoon and read that the g6's don't have an LSD from factory, is this true? So the question is would it be a better option to put a new LSD diff in instead of repairing the factory one? What is everyone's thoughts on this? I'm in perth, iv heard good things about xtreme ford tuning they can probably help
BenDoCo I'm getten too old for this s**t Bronze Donating Members 4,509 Member For: 11y 8m 8d Gender: Male Location: A big bridge over a river in South Australia Posted 22/04/14 01:57 PM Share Posted 22/04/14 01:57 PM (edited) If you go the LSD replacement, they will probably send it to a 'specialist' to install the diff center and that's OK coz you usually find that the really REALLY good workshops, such as XFT use 'specialists' (for some things) that DO know what they are doing and they stand by their work. Two LSD's to choose from really (or three if you include the XR6T diff). TruTrac and Kaaz. Apparently both are very good and both have faults.....I know that may not make sense but from everything I have read about the two, some people swear by the one they chose to install and others the other ( <-- that sounds right in my head ).TruTrak seems to be the more common LSD to install in the G6 but I do suggest that you do your own research on here about the two and once you have an idea in your head, then go to XFT and talk to them. When it comes to bushes -- -- depending on what you have already done to your suspension, ie lowered, will depend on what type or brand of Diff Bush they would suggest as some can make the ride quite a bit harder so don't be supprised if they recommend the standard Fraud ones depending on your requirements from the car. Kaaz I can comment on sorry..My diff guy said an LSD gives approx 30% bite and will eventually clap out as opposed to a TruTracs 70%..Expect about $1200 for the unit and as advised having it done now while the cradle is out will save ya a LOT of labour costs if / when u decide to do it in the future..Bushes most guys use are the SuperPro Comfort series..Get the 2 side bushes while your at it in the same kit for about $220..replacing with factorys will only have the same problem not far down the track..best of luck :D

Also the notion that true tracs are noisy seems to be a myth as im yet to hear a noisy one and plenty of people have reported that they are nice and quiet. To many posts for me today should probably do some work...
