so is it actually road speed based? or engine speed based but you have converted that to road speed?

It's actual road speed we have a sensor that triggers off the tailshaft. The iq3 dash is calibrated and reads it as well, it can also be done via gps but no need to complicate matters as this is dead accurate.

Yep if ya use it to its full potential it's an awesome bit of kit, you can control everything and there's no guess work especially if ya have sensors on everything like we have

In the 8.9 run, you can hear it put more into it half way through 1st gear. Are you just leaving off the brake ?

Just footbrake and handbrake which the aux 2step is triggered off. 1st gear had the same power in it all night but 2nd gear had more peak boost and put in a little earlier than the previous runs. Nothing major though and the tuned was trimmed a little so just was cleaner than the first few passes

is it closed loop boost control? is it gear related at all?

Yep it is and no nothing gear related. We use the laid over traces in the log rpm/speed/target boost and the old timeslip to calculate when we want it to come in and of coarse good old seat of the pants feel and video. It's amazing what good footage can do for ya as well
