Hi all,

Im pretty sure this has been asked before (sorry to moderators for not being thorough enough), but what sort of kW gains can I expect after getting a tune put in my car while running it on eflex? I'm hearing figures that sound untrue (like 50+kw gains)

I have a BF II XR6T with Process West TB relocate, piping, PW front mount, Hi-flowed gt35/40r, PW surge tank and 044 pump, Cold air intake soon to be replaced with a race box - tuned to 350rwkw. ZF is about to be rebuilt and im thinking that converting the engine to e85 full time could be the go to squeeze a few extra kW out of her while its in getting the box done.

Feel free to let me know what you guys think....

it has been posted before that Caltex Eflex has remained a constant ethanol content s far but they advertise it as a variable so it is possible at some stage this will vary and this could affect your car badly if tuned for say E85 and then it went to 70%, United E85 is pretty consistent around 82-85%

I wnt from 341rwkw to 365 with just a change to 50/50 98 ron and e85. couldnt use full e85 cause 60lb dekka's were getting too close to max duty cycle...

still a whopping gain from just a fuel change. I use united too.

No a xr6 but I just went United e85 on my sr20

Went from 215 on 20psi to 220 on 16 psi

New 20psi was around 245 before maxing 740cc injectors

Real benefit is you can run a whole lot more timing and boost safely so it feels like the turbo comes on a lot quicker. Generally feels a lot better, car runs a whole lot cooler on the track too

Mainly did it for the reliability and cooling, but bonus power is pretty cool. Last traxkday I used low boost all day and felt way better ro drive than old hi boost 98 tune

Depends on your engine and how much timing can be dialed in.

The anti knock properties of E85 are fantastic, so if you built an engine up the compression. I would say with the right package and fuel system, the right car could go from 400 - 500 rwkw with a change to E85.
