most people selling the GTX do not include a rear housing, your current one will fit on but requires the turbo port and flapper mod done to it.

Most sellers give the impression that it is a straight bolt on arrangement, yes it bolts to the manifold and lines but there is more work to be done which adds to the cost

thanks that helps alot! so basically I would be up for the $1700 and then like $600 to have my housing modded?

ive seen a gt3540 with 15,000ks and already flapper and port mod, but im guessing that's with a ba housing which you sayd to stay away from McMattyp91

FG housings are better grade of metal and do not crack as easy.

You also have to, get a reference fitting put on the front cover, a new actuator bracket or modify a supplied multi fit one, different size outlet hose and different size inlet pipe

There is no cheap option here bud while the gtx may cost 1500 but to get the thing on properly it'll cost 2500 at least with the standard rear housing

My one cost me

550 for 3540 compressor core

160 for actuator

150 for billet wheel

200 for a balance

400 for waste gate porting and flapper mod
