If I was to use two lengths of 2 gauge wire joined in parallel to run from the boot to the starter motor would it have any negative effects, it would have more surface area than 00 gauge so maybe less voltage drop?

I'd personally stick with what is common. You can end up with eddy currents running multiple wires (sometimes). Don't know what the cost diff would be either but I can imagine it would be more expensive

Car electrics scare me. When that stuff starts to go haywire I've read too many wild problems appearing all over the car.

I mean who would think that a blown tail (or was it brake) globe causes, what was it, traction control or something to go off?

Stuff of nightmares.

It's just that I have about 14m of 2 gauge welding cable, would be nice to be able to use some of that instead of buying new 00 gauge
