Do you have white or black smoke? If it is black then you are very lucky, sounds like an air leak, sensor failure, if it is white then I hope your pockets are deep. One with bent valves. Another with minor evidence of contact on the pistons.Ribby a rough way to check you should have 8 links between the marks on the tone wheels which should be pointing at 12 o clock. Pretty sure the cams dont need to be locked in the full advance position when checking this way. The proper way to check is to find actual TDC with a piston stop and use a degree wheel. Those marks will only line up every 36 rotations from memory.You will need to know a lot more if you intend on fixing it yourself. If you do find an issue take it to a reputable tuner for repair.
