Hey guys, figured id say a quick hi and introduce myself.

Ive had a BF XR (non turbo) for just under 2 years, absolutely loved it but it lacked in a few departments. Put in an intake and full exhaust, nicer speakers and the wheels. Stopped there, knew Id be wasting money otherwise. Once I was off my Ps I wanted to make the jump.

I considered keeping the XR and dropping a charger on it, but im a sales rep and spend way too much time in my car to pass up the luxuries of the g6.

After a little looking I got this. 2013 with 15,000ks on it.

Ive had it for a couple of weeks now, absolutely loving it! :drivingalong:

The power is amazing compared to my XR. Trumped my mates Bogan special which made him go get a zorst, tune and intake haha. Still getting used to it, especially handling the launch properly. I must admit its a little soft in the corners compared to the XR, figured once I lower it I shouldnt have any issues.

Ive just taken the mudguards off, and got myself some slimline black plates. Looks alot cleaner now.

My immediate plans:

- Darkest tint

- Lowered springs/shocks/coilovers (still undecided)

- Bavaria BC10 rims from the XR to go on, might plasti dip them first, black or something whack like purple haha

Id love to get some mods going where they matter, but given its age im somewhat concerned with warranty.

Also if anyones interested in the wheels I might consider selling. Bavaria BC10, 20x8.5 up front and 20x10 at the back. Im pretty sure the offset is +39 at the rears, +35 up front.

How would they go with ultra low? Ive had a read through the offsets and tyre questions thread, seems to be very specific to offsets.

Anyway love the forum so far, had some interesting reads, seen some very impressive figures and had quite a few questions answered already.

If anyones got any tips in regards to anything ive mentioned feel free to let me know! Id love to get to 300+ rwkw at some point, not sure how long ill hold out waiting for warranty to end :shifty:

Congrats on the purchase mate. Enjoy every moment of it as it will always put a smile on your face.

If and when you do your mods, don't aim for 300+.

Go straight to 350-400rwkw if you can afford it. Also get that dif out and look for an LSD.

I love the look of these things. I dont car what anyone says ford or Expensive Daewoo loving, you can beat them for money input to power output. And they can still be driven every day by you or a girlfriend, wife, mum, nan whatever!

if your worried about warranty dont do mods. If you have a limited amount of cash, do handling and braking.

handling with coilovers

branking with new rotors/pads or brembo upgrade

Then save about 10k and like the boys said shoot straight for 350-400rwkw. Poor man pays twice

I only noticed the amount of posts now. Welcome to the forum.

I am a poor man and so I will have to do it twice.

I am with Ma91ck, do your brakes and handling first.

I should have done that first instead of the power mods.

I have almost gotten into trouble due to braking issues.

Lucky no one was in the other lane.

Thanks for the replies! Cash isn't totally limited at the moment, I could get away with a few grand. In terms of handling, should I go for coilovers or just springs? Given that I will be making it a lot quicker sooner or later I'm not sure which way to go. In terms of heading to 350-400 mark, would a normal cai be any good or should I not bother until battery relocation?

In the meantime, rims are going to be dipped next week, any colour suggestions?

your better off with coil overs dude. you can then adjust it to have a perfect height and great handling. You pay just as much with springs and good shocks, and you will only ever have one height

I have just ssl's with stock g6et shocks and it rides ok but could be better I think and handling seems a bit sketchy at times when attacking twistes. Coil overs or a spring and shock package. I personally could not recommended doing springs only.
