firstly im kal, been on these forums for not that long mainly searching around threads for info etc on g6e's...

so finally time has come to start looking to buy my first ford :wwww: will be looking at a few starting next week!

now after digging through threads for hours ive come up with a list of parts that ill be looking at ordering in the next week or two as id rather have everything here get it all done at once and do it right the first time!

so the plans are once I get my hands on one are installing a PWR heat exchanger and upgraded tailshaft ( rather do these first so I avoid issues later on down the track )

but in the mean time ill be starting to order a few bits a pieces next week and was wondering if im missing anything?

1000cc injectors ( whoever the tuner recommends )

full exhaust

plaz stage 3 IC

plaz 4" cai + battery relocation kit

plaz surge

valve springs

precision 6235 / gtx3582r ( still undecided? )

also can anyone tell me what to to look for when it comes to common problems like diff bushes etc? and what the ZF can handle before needing to be rebuilt?

any info would be much appreciated cheers guys, kal.

Welcome to the forum Kal

Where to start and where to stop = wallet size with these things and I'm sure you understand that there can be a big dollar difference between a 12 second car and a 9 second demon.

My advice comes from doing what you did - read A LOT and then read a lot more and ask questions about tunas in your area (where are you - what state???) and give them a ring to set up a meeting so you can sit down with them to work out the best way to go for what YOU want the car to do.

If you plan on buying stuff from ebay, be careful coz you never know what you've bought until it's in the hands of your tuna therefore it is a hell of alot safer to get the tuna to supply and fit things like injectors and the xCal etc. imho.

With a stg 3 FMIC, you do realise that you have to cut some of the car apart to fit it don't you? Absolutely fine until a member of the 5-0 stops you and knows what he's looking for then it could be canary time.

A few members on here are in the middle of doing some research with the 6235 turbo and by all accounts, they are getting some good results but 'most' tunas are all over the gtx and know how to get the most out of them so again, talk to the tuna and get his thoughts.

As you would know, the g6 diff is a single spinner therefore if you are thinking of throwing a TruTrac lsd in it, it's a good idea to chuck some bushes at it at the same time. SuperPro Comforts (I think that's what people have said are good)

A heat exchanger on the trans is a hell of a lot cheaper than a trans rebuild that's for sure but when it comes to 'what will the trans take before it lets go', I usually hear about 420-450 is when an input shaft may be needed.

Good luck with it all.

ZF clutch packs will wear out over time, more power = faster death. Mine was beyond rooted after 100,000km stock and another 120,000km with 320rwkw. Don't let it get as bad as I did. If it starts to play up (not changing to 4th at WOT for example) get it rebuilt.

Cheers for the info guys, based in brisbane so I thinking either profile or RDP will be doing the work once everything has been decided...

Still not sure if I should go through a dealer or private sale either way I'll have one sitting in my driveway in the next week or two!

357rwkw my zf wass very cranky

413rwkw won't shift into 4th at wot

It's needed a rebuild for 50000kms and it's the next on my list

I still run the single pegger It's really not that bad just don't do burnouts lol

Long story short

Ask around everyone has different experiences and really work out what you want from the car

And sometimes taking your own track can be fun (I went a different turbo no one else has because it suited my needs perfectly)

Don't be afraid to ask questions we are all here to help and talk about our cars
