Plugged in my new OBD reader and my car (FG XR6 Turbo) has logged the codes P023D and P1655. Does anybody know what these codes mean?

So far I think the codes are:

P023D manifold absolute pressure - turbo/supercharger boost sensor "a" correlation

P1655 EVAP Purge Solenoid Control Circuit.

Any idea's?

I've Googled.

So my understanding is that if the Check Engine Light comes on while driving it means there is a problem. Hence check OBD codes using a reader.

So if no Check Engine Light is on and you read OBD codes, these codes may not be an issue. Ie. Pre logged codes…Like the two I listed in my previous post.

I surmise that the Check Engine Light will only be triggered when the fault is serious or reoccurs a pre-set number of times.

So potentially, you can have a Chicken Little moment by playing with tech without an understanding of the basics of how ECU log codes and when to read them.

Is my understanding correct or have I trigged code “DUMBASS”

Mine does the p023d code and comes up the same explanation. When that code is triggered the engine light will flash for about 20 seconds then go away. I think it is something to do with over boosting but I'm not sure.

I thought engine light would come on for active fault codes only, that relate to emissions...

And most sensors on an engine will relate to the emission control

Once the light goes off it will become an inactive fault code, either problem sorted it self out, or no longer effecting the emissions
