The shift points in the higher gears are a PIA. Fuel economy suffers and always seems to be in a lower gear than it needs to be. I am hoping one day before I die that HP TUners works out the software for the ZF.

It currently supports BFmk2 with the zf.. I have my tune files in a comment on page 38 of the aus tuning thread just in case you wanted to have a look around

Keep the foot planted most of the way to encourage it to rev out gears each time. You'll need less throttle over time for the same rev out thus won't be going as fast.

Like Ralph said, extended periods of enthusiastic driving! Get stuck into corners/roundabouts a bit too, in the dry anyway.

Drop into a dealer and get them to reset it maybe - should adapt to your driving style from fresh quicker than it adapts from previously learnt bad habits?

Yeah I was thinking of doing that when I got my ZF rebuilt due to the horridly harsh shifts. It's fairly good now but seems to have plateaued at about 90% of what it was before in terms of smooth shifts. Bearable.

The car revs out ok and its very eager to hang onto a gear, the gearbox is not lazy.

What speed should it drop into 6th just driving normally mind you its a FG F6 so BF's and XR6's could be calibrated differently.

Rang a tuner reckons that's the way the box is, even with the latest software they cant make the box change earlier on light throttle.

Well it is a box that is designed for smooth driving as well as sport. Light throttle low RPM shifting is to be expected really. If there was a way to lock the internal 0-200 points system at 200 maybe it would be more obnoxious but I don't know if they can do that. FYI Perf mode adds 100 to whatever your auto learned count is currently.

6th gear can be selected at 72km/h manually but in D I think it prefers about 80.
