MA91CK billet turbos and weathered engines dont mix Donating Members 1,346 Member For: 12y 6m 24d Gender: Male Location: Wollongong Posted 23/03/14 01:06 AM Share Posted 23/03/14 01:06 AM There's something wrong with your setup somewhere if it's not pushing past 16, these turbos can in theory do 35+ . Check everything again, a GTX is only jussstttt coming into its efficiency range at 16, they really start to shine at 20-23. Something is restricting the turbo wether it be intake/exhaust or the engine can't handle it ie valve springs even though you changed them. Even your tune? Mind you as said, for someone chasing something relatively safe on a standard motor and gearbox it really moves, easily blazes first 3 gears in the dry and has spun in 4th if loaded up. Looks like I'll be selling a complete standard FG turbo with 20,000km and the above gtx3576 complete with ported housing and turbosmart gate

The turbo can't create more than 16psi even with the gate held shut

The '76 wil run out of puff at about 400rwkw, but that's still easily over 20psi, where the 82 can keep going. Don't sell it man they're a perfectly matched turbo for our cars. Where are you located? Yeah currently makes 470rwhp through the ZF. Located in Far North Queensland. The current tune is 20psi but it tapers to 16psi at like 4000/4500rpm

If that's the case then you MAY have a dodgy turbo, could still be the tune though or just unlucky and got a dud set of springs. You'll have to wait till the experienced guys chime in, I still only have relatively limited knkwledge
