this guy ^^ wishes it did, then he'd be able to tell when he was getting close!

jokes aside... the GT-F was never going to be anything REALLY special, but it will be iconic and that's what Ford are aiming for.

If Ford did everything to keep everybody in here happy, the car would be a GTS with Ford badges and more power... nobody wants it to look like a Holden, let's face facts... the technological "improvements" that the GTS sports are just all wank factor anyway.

Overquoted power figures are for tossers. We know the GT-F will be a good car... is it worth $90k+... not in my opinion. $77k is a reasonable price, if you ask me, for a car that is potentially worth a lot more in the future.

People who are buying one in the hope it'll make them some cash down the line probably won't be disappointed, but also probably won't be "enjoying it" as KS put.

I look forward to seeing the real deal in the flesh!

I think Rob wasn't so much having a go at the GTF for what it IS, but more so what it's TRYING to be. I'd say he's disappointed in the use of the 351 badge to try link it to the GT's of the old days. I was actually watching a clip on YouTube the other day from top gear Australia (I know, I couldn't believe I was watching it either) where old mate tested a Phase 3 GTHO. He made a point that at the time you could have pretty much walked into a showroom and purchased one then drive it to Bathurst, drive it in the race and potentially win (debate about driving skill aside). I think that was what was so special about the cars back then, they were essentially race cars for the road. You could own a car very similar to that of your idols race car, and they were faster than pretty much anything else on the road at the time. I'd say that's what the 351 badge represents to many people, so having that badge on this final GT isn't really the same thing.

Spec for spec against a stock falcon they are virtualy a race car.....

I don't think it was about making a gts copy

Everyone knows the potential of the coyote

It's just a shame they didn't take the idea of a proper finale and run with it

Just seems like a wasted opportunity

I'm very jealous of whomever buys one but the gt deserves a proper burial

More power, better suspension etc

What does everyone else think they should have done to make it better?

Without major changes to the drive line (not going to happen for a one off, run out model) how much further could they have gone (safely and warranty/reliability wise)?

Sure, it may not be what it should have been, but it's at least a little better than just a sticker pack and will be unique in its own ways.

Ford don't have money for R&D.

So power is adequate and still maintain warranty.

But the could have bought 500 units after market of wheels brakes and suspension components. Had the vehicle handle and brake like well a larger sporty euro.

Make it a much better package overall worthy of the coin and history without havering to spend or develop. I think most Fans of the Marque would have appreciated that.

PS make everyone of them a manual. Relate to true driving heritage. Not fat old blokes that can press the loud pedal leave black lines and feel like a hero.

I actually agree with you

It wouldn't cost that much to get it there as most of the power train stuff is there

And yes all manuals!! The zf is great but this should pay homage to the original GTs
