Theres 2 options in the zf hp8 range. the 55, the 70 & then up to the 80 (refering the repective torques in the 100's) Wouldn't have been a big issue to put them in, would have made for a better car...

Was about to say the same thing fifty

And the worst part is, it would not have cost them that much more

they are killing the falcon, fair enough, but it needs a proper swan song otherwise most enthusiasts are going to be disenfranchised with ford

Couldn't only do the box though, the whole driveline would need attention which would add up fast I expect.

Still...would have been nice...

still for the asking price of some dealers being 100k I doubt that they couldnt do all those things required to make this a proper tribute and still turn a slight profit

Do you think that those who have purchased the RSpec and GT , will endeavor to move them on to get into a GT-F? ...What are the chances that Ford will drop another final run before the doors are finally closed ? . Some say there will not be another run as Ford will close the doors to production early and we may not even see the XR8 in 335 dress ?

Your thoughts

Doubt it. Remember we have the very last original FPV built GT R specs. The rest of the GT,s after ours come off the Ford production line. That may help our resale in some years.

Agree with SteveR ..........we all know from our earlier experimental years - improcve one area and break another , fix that area and then break another , and you felt like you were in a spin , and ended right back where you started .. Earlier Ford/FPV stated , what was holding them back, wasnt so much the ZF........but chassis, body, rear end and cooling . So I would have to agree with SteveR , they could have easily dropped in a better box , but that would have meant a redesign of many other componets and body ..

I 've no idea - I confess - but with a reported $40m (wasnt it??) , you would have though they could have delivered a mere 350 RSpec - ball breakers to stand proud and above the pack !!

To me this 'final' really smacks of the problems ford's had for so many years. They simply don't invest in themselves [/thread]

There you go '430kw' easy .... But they didn't want to spend the money/research in engineering the rest of the car to handle it with sufficient safety margin to ensure that the cars didn't come back under warranty time and time again ...

It's funny how they say they 've delivered the final GT in the specifications that Ford GT enthusiasts wanted ??? Where was my call ?, who was called ? Where was the survey done and which market was surveyed ?

Tell like it is and don't bullish to the people who have made what you re today...
