devzz New Member 18 Member For: 11y 2m 23d Posted 14/03/14 01:26 AM Share Posted 14/03/14 01:26 AM Hey guys I have an 08 fg xr6 5 speed auto.I noticed a sort of humming sound when I turn my car to the "on" position before I crank the engine. It doesn't do it all the time but most times, I have also noticed while driving or a low revs in neutral. It also seems to get slightly louder when I rev it.Firstly I thought it may be an exhaust component such as the cat converter? But further research I noticed that a lot of people are having issues with the 5 speed. devzz New Member 18 Member For: 11y 2m 23d Posted 16/03/14 05:11 AM Author Share Posted 16/03/14 05:11 AM Thanks for the input guys don't think its priming of the fuel pump because I can still hear it when the car is running, and will still hear it 10-15 mins after the car has been running.a bit more information on it, its not a consistent humming it sort of sounds like something is moving into position slowly like the priming of a fuel pump and then stop and come back again. tough to explain but I will try get a video with sound make it a bit easier. anymore input would be greatly appreciatedcheers Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
