Hey folks just seeing if someone could recommend me a good transmission builder (Southeast QLD) who would be able to rebuild the BTR 4spd in my car, it hasnt given way yet but at the moment its making 440rwhp running a 3" exhaust with 5" cat, I bought a new x-force stainless steel exhaust with the 4" inch dump and 3 1/2" turbo back and was told after its fitted and tuned I would need a decent gearbox, will the BTR boxes be able to handle the extra or am I better off finding a whole different gearbox?? Any info is welcome. Cheers

My 2 Cents,

The BTR is running on borrowed time after 300kw, some people have found shops to build them up a bit, but they will not take big power. Most big shooters are going for a BUILT TH400 or Similer box

Some with the T 400 have had problems created as well. You need to do a bit of reading on some of the threads.

Powerglide... Cause who doesn't want 2spds and sh*thouse economy in their modern day street car.

Seriously though would be awesome if somebody came up with a straightforward way to fit the zf to the older b's as they are taking some pretty decent power these days, and they will get better. Put it this way, pretty sure a glide couldn't handle 1000hp + when they were tooled last melenium.

Powerglides may not be a enjoyable box to use on the street but they do produce the results with enough power behind them in a well setup car. They have also been able to handle well in excess of a 1000hp + in built form for many many moons.
