Fuel Optimal Temperature At Injector?

On the turbo tory I run a surge tank setup. I used to run the fuel return back to the surge tank as this was the recommended way to do it in the day. Its done this way cause usually the pump to fill the surge tank is usually smaller than the main pump to the injectors and having the return line plumbed back into the surge tank is a more sure way of keeping it full.

Having it set up this way really heated the fuel and would cause issues with the bosch 044.

I ended up finding a pump that supplies the surge that keeps up with the 044 and plumbing the return line back into the fuel tank. Fuel was much much cooler and helped with the 044 going less troppo.

My main reason for wanting the fuel cool is to push the knock limit at high boost as far away as possible.

I think hot fuel under cruise conditions may actually be good.

Correct.

Something that we have been trying to educate for a long time is, the importance of cool dense fuel for maximum performance.

High fuel temperatures are detrimental to optimum performance. This is why manufactures strive to create systems that run fuel cooler.

To run a surge tank system , especially close to engine and exhaust is prime candidate for heating fuel. KPM have engineered direct replacemant fuel pump systems to be housed intank as OEM that deliver cool fresh fuel up to 1000HP quitely , efficiantly, safely without any hassle of external tanks.

Suit a 05 BF?

I seen years ago Plazmaman did a lot of work with Rotormaster with cooling fuel, the fuel rail in there r100

was covered in ice and had problems keeping the throttle body from sticking ! I guess it worked they were the

quickest, me thinks cool fuel big top end power hot fuel economy to a point ? could be wrong!
