If the tune isn't barbaric, even your gf could drive them. Mine does (though it's a sedan).

Throttle control is piss easy, by which I mean don't floor it (or let it build boost) and you'll be right.

...unless you are hopping into the car unprepared and unknowing, in that instance it could see you put in a wall very easily, especially in the wet. It does tend to RUSH in all of a sudden. As long as you aren't driving like a nut though and have been warned it's all good.

If the car looks good then grab it and just take the time to learn the behaviour of them. If you've driven rally before I'd wager you know what loss of traction feels like hahaha...might be a bit more tail happy of course.

Biggest worry would be chirping the wheels at the lights or cornering and having a cop nab you with hoon laws. Which is a genuine concern.

My TC tried and fails utterly. Powerskids are not in the programming it seems. Is good for corners though.

My traction control will stay on for a while.

But seriously, 300 or 500rwkw, its all about throttle control.

I can speak from having an FG Sedan not sure how Ute is going to differ and depends how you drive in every day use, there seems to be lots of ute owners here so I guess it's not long until somebody pitches in.

If you have Factory tyres on it, Forget it and de-tune it to factory power. Get the best Street Tyres you can it's the best mod you can do.

If you have Good tyres, it's very easy to handle. Don't rely on the traction control to save you if you drive foot to the floor in 1st gear, the car will still go sideways and at times almost the same as if TC was off. With Good tyres, with 300kw every day driving is excellent and easy and you can put your foot down with confidence.

If tuned well, you will enjoy Factory like driving but with more power everywhere. The boost will come on smoothly but still quickly, these motors are big and get into the power very quickly without any sudden lurches.

Get to know the car and you should be fine.. You can hit a tree in a corolla or a 300kw xr6, its all how you drive the thing.. Drive like an idiot and you'll quickly learn..
