Strip it off the turbo and preheat the cast so the weld wont get a fracture, like this has done. Cast will be tricky as it will have a few inclusions, which will show through. I would get a big G clamp and hold the feral bit tightly where it was originally by clamping over the end of the lever bit. I'd practice on a bit of cast before hand also.
