Whilst my turbo is off and being flowed I was wanting to do some work on the stock manifold..

Sure its been done but wanna know if its really worth it..??

The EVO guys have some great results with this as a great alternative to tuned length runner manifolds..

Im not after 100s of KWs but is there any/much performance gains to be had..

Anyone have any do's and dont do's when opening it up ? pix or results they can share ?

Or should I just go nuts with the die grinder hahaha :)

It would be good to know if there is any gains to be had in porting the stock manifold, there are instances where in certain cars good results have been got from this.

I used to dick around with those poofy Motorised push bikes for a while.. Got right into them actually haha

I'd buy the little 2 stroke Chinese motors strip them down from brand new then clean up all the ports and match port everything while I was hiding out in the garage living with the mother in law lol.

There was def. a difference between a cleaned up motor and an untouched one.

To keep the same profile on the inside of that manifold I'm going to need to remove a fair bit of material to match the opening size of the gasket, same thing with the turbo housing.

I'm fairly confident it will allow the exhaust air out of the manifold and into the turbo housing easier.

Only 1 way to find out really.. Hopefully I"ll gain another 0.5kw from all my hard work :-/

Definately worth while. You don't have to match it with the gasket, I would actually get rid of the gasket and get a good machinist to machine baby bottom smooth each side once you have matched it. Taking it out to the gasket is not necessary, just so its all smooth flowing.
