yes and no. Yes on the history, no on why people do it now. I did it because:

* My wheels juuussssttttttt stick out the gards ( like 1mm ) so obviously tyres would not fit under the car.

* it makes wheels with aggressive offsets ( like mine ) look a lot better by tieing the wheels into the car, not just having stupid fat wide tyres, so they look flush

* The eliminate tyre flex when you have just slightly stretched tyres (245 on a 10" ) so you get better response from your steering, contrary to actual belief that it will hinder handling ( obviously a 195 on a 10" is dumb )

Hey mate, I think I was rolling along next to you on homebush bay dr one morning the other week. Car looks good man and doesn't seem to scrub as much as mine lol.

Haha same as me dude! Was driving from the girlfriends house, made me head snap pretty hard when you pulled out. I rekon you're slightly lower and wider than me, but you're right about not many falcons like us hey

Axis Hiro

Thank you for that info, but they are extremely hard to find.

Other than the odd wheel shop in WA (that used to have them) there doesn't seem to be any retailers that stock them in Aus any more. Definitely no outlets in QLD

The only ones that I have found have been on Gumtree & eBay & they are secondhand.

I steer clear of secondhand soft alloy wheels because most of the decent schmick looking ones are only sold because they are warped or bent.
