with poke like those pics its a matter of when, not if, youll be defected...

I would not go beyond flush. that satisfies the 'not extending beyond the guard, viewed from above' rule, but not the track increase limits rule

Track limit is 25mm total, so that's 12mm each side...flush fitment is around 20-25mm each side, so that's illegal anyway...why not just go that extra few mm if you can fit it.

It's all down to your own preference really, I like slight poke with enough stretch to put the tyre back under the lip of the guard

I thought track was measured from the centre of the wheel/tyre?

but when you read the spec sheet on what the factory track width is, it will be taken from the center of each wheel and when you measure with your new wheels if it's 25mm wider then the spec then it's illegal

Actually it has to be measured from the center because that is the center of the rim as well, cause stretched tyres or tyres that are to big will change your measurement and the centre of the tyre will always be on the same spot of the wheel

You couldn't legally fit a 9" up front.

Front track of a BA is 1553mm, so legally you can push that to 1578mm, that leaves 12mm each side. A 9" is 26mm wider, but as track is measured from the centre, only half if that is taken into account, so that's still 13mm, we don't have any room at all to move the aftermarket wheels closer to the strut so the most offset we could have on that 9" is +23mm, which pushes the outer lip 26mm further out and makes our track illegal.

I hope that makes sense, I'm typing one handed whilst trying to feed my 3mo son :)

So at the end of the day I know a 9" is illegal, so why bother being illegal by 1mm when I can make the car look a lot better (personal opinion) and have it how I want it, I know cops can't really see 1mm and can see poke but hey, this is Australia, they're too busy busting skylines and Silvia to worry about my "dad's" car
