I seem to remember a motor or wheels mag recently where they tested top end speed and the top one was around 306 :)

Well done!!!!

Was that with T5, and what diff ratio?

Was that a standard configuration phase 3 motor.... not that I will try to attempt it.

Brian

Hi Brian,

Yes it was with the mighty T5 trans and to my surprise it did not explode or over heat or do anything out of the ordinary.

Diff ratio was 3.23 to 1 and we fitted 18'' Wheels and tyres, with these small mods we calculated a possible top of 309kph at approx 5900rpm, that is of course if we had the mumbo to fully utilise the total gearing.

The power was supplied via the phase III system (345 kw at the treads) and the engine internals are completely stock ford components.

The mighty APS T surprised many today and there were over 50 people who witnessed the 307 KPH top speed.

If I am not mislead the APS xr6t is now the fastest road car ever tested in Australia by a leading motoring magazine.

How did you measure the speed?

The speed was measured by radar along with another 20+ high performance cars, Sorry I cant say much more as I will spoil the reading for many other people in a months time.

Show us the speed camera pic to proove it Peter!!

We may have better than that, if the camera functioned correctly. I might have a small video of the action that we can put on the APS web site in the near future, as the states speed camera's only operate to 300kph, lucky for us.

Well done Peter, I didn't doubt that if you were going out to attempt this that you would actually succeed. Did you drive it yourself? It would be an almighty rush and certainly something you could say not many others will have or ever will do as a driver!

Prototype APS brakes??

P.S Auto is SH#T Hot!

Hey thanks 100% to say we at APS were happy would be an under statement, we were stoked with the 307 KPH top speed.

It was touch and go as removing the speed limiter proved to be more of a challenge than we first thought.

I did not get to drive the car for the top speed trial as there were conditions to the entry of the event, I wish I could say more about the day though I cant right now as the results will be published in the near future.

We did get a good opportunity for some severe brake testing, from some incredibley high speeds so this was also an added bonus of the day

Great to hear thar the auto updrade is working well, will be excellent to see how the big ute performs at the next calder meet.
