6 Piston Fg Brembo - Shudder - Need Help Asap

I own a 08 FG XR6T with the Brembo 6 Piston upgrade on the front only (Rears are standard spec)

Have been getting a wicked shudder / vibration basically since the day I installed them. All the gear is genuine and direct from Ford Calipers, Pads, Rotors etc...etc

Really only happens on light brake application and it is getting to a point that it is unsafe and unacceptable

Have read nearly all the posts on this issue and there are differing opinions on what needs to be done.

Contacted local fraud dealer and they were no help whatsoever

Could someone please clarify what you have done and what has and has not worked in resolving this issue

No offence to the person who installed them but they are always going too defend them self.

Id get them checked out by someone else,

Shudder is normally caused by the disc being warped. First off try machining them and if that makes it no better I'd be calling ford and try and figure out if there is a problem with the caliper

First port of call is measuring the disc runout with a dial indicator gauge. Measure it when you take the wheel off but make sure you bolt up 5 nuts with something underneath them to account for the wheel. Measure runout then take the disc off and measure runout of the hub.

You can see if there is a issue here or not.

Also the space between the disc and hub tends to accumulate corrossion and take a while to clean up properly. I spent about 20min each side and I doubt many workshops even bother.

My new discs T3 were 0.01mm runout which is pretty good. The discs I took off were around 0.2 runout but the hubs were perfect at 0.00.

0.2 runout will be felt at the pedal

Thanks for the advice.

This is the reason I wanted to start fresh and get an honest opinion.

If you keep reading what everyone has to say you end up getting confused.

In other posts there is miracle cure of bushes , machining disks etc etc.

I will start with the most cost effective remedy of getting another shop to go through the front brakes with an emphasis on getting everything clean before re assembly. And then move on to the next area where a problem could occur.
