Only 1 cylinder seems to be affected. About to scan to locate cylinder that's missing and then replace coil/plug.BUT, I had a look at the plug connectors and found one is discoloured - see photo. Has anyone seen this? Thanks..

Ive been beaten by a friggin camry and a forester so far lol... I had a faulty fuel reg and was pumping a lot more fuel than was needed, so I'm thinking it may have fouled the plugs and causing my issueIve got some second hand coils (said they were pretty much new) and just need to get some new plugs and see if it fix's the problem. If it has then will get some brand new coils.Im keen to see what your issue is, I haven't pulled mine apart yet to see whats up with the coils or plugs.. threeta Member 8 Member For: 14y 1m 24d Posted 28/01/14 02:00 AM Author Share Posted 28/01/14 02:00 AM my neighbour has the scan tool - and its sposed to tell us what clyinder is missing - it feels like only 1 is going off - man it feels sick when it does. Its not good for cat engine drive train etc to drive them while missing, so I'm limping along for the next day until I get home to sort the issue. I have just rebuilt the turbo and it was going so well - oh well...I pulled all the coils to have a look - and spotted the 1 in the photo that looks suspicious. no plug spanner to pull plugs and see if anything else is wierd... keen if anyone has seen this before and can tell me if its coil or plug or water or whatever??? ta
threeta Member 8 Member For: 14y 1m 24d Posted 29/01/14 06:01 AM Author Share Posted 29/01/14 06:01 AM cleaned "dust" of the end of the "lead" seemed a bit better but miss was still there.drove home from holiday (200km) - miss got worse and worse until nearly undriveable - ok at motorway speeds, but idle in traffic it was having major heart attacks....ok at part throttle. its hard driving a turbo and not overtaking Scan had "Run lean" no other faults :( . Scan test showed no faults even though it was missing when the scanner was checking all the stuff it can check (idle circuits and stuff).Neighbour got me new coil (NZD80). Replace #2 coil pack as suspected - running sweet as. Neighbour also mentioned another client of his had similar issue - he tried 1 new pack on all 6 cylinders and could not fix. another garage replaced all 6 and problem gone - so 2 can fail at once it seems.Compared plugs from 1 and 2 - looked the same.have fun -
