timetaker Donating Members 217 Member For: 13y 11m 5d Gender: Male Posted 14/01/14 12:53 AM Share Posted 14/01/14 12:53 AM Just wondering whether anyone has had their power steering feel like it's being wound up like an elastic cord while you turning the steering wheel?I 've checked the tyre pressures and they were ok .I've also checked the fluid and it's just above the refill line.I'm not sure if I am imagining it or not?It feels like a tightness as I turn the wheel when I'm backing out(or going forward) the car going very slowly.The slower I go the tighter it feels.The analogy of the elastic band probably best describes the steering wanting to snap back to the opposite direction of the turning steering wheel.Any help much appreciated! I will double check the fluid condition. I never thought of the steering rack;sounds plausible.I may drop it into the dealer this week to check it out.I always prefer to go and see the dealer armed with some imfo/knowledge,just in case they try to bulldust me.
