you don't want to introduce any slip if possible, even accelerating hard once the clutch is fully released can cause issues as the clamping surface is not 100%, once you glaze it, it will be stuffed, many have done it in the past and try to blame the clutch

Just an update guys, had the O3+ combined with a mal wood short shift in my 10' FG XR6T for a few days now. One word pretty much sums it up, Awesome.

The clutch has great feel and the weight of it is great. The short shift works a treat too, the throws are short, the box just feels tight and 99% less notchy than standard.

I would highly reccomend either and or both these items to anyone that's thinking of getting em. Just a heads up.

Joe.

I didn't find the Mal Wood shifter actually cut the shift distance down THAT much on mine. It did make the shift a little more positive and less notchy though. I've driven a car the same as mine with one of the Aeroflow short shifters and the throw on that is shorter and felt really nice, although the actual lever sticks up higher.

The MW shifter for FGs is too short a throw. Doesn't feel right.

The opt3+ is great though.

Interesting. One guy saying its too long and the next saying its too short...

Guess its an individual preference, no one solution for everyone

The Aeroflow lever was longer, but the throw felt shorter...overall I preferred the feel of the Aeroflow.

How far has this clutch been pushed? I've currently got one holding 400kw easily but I've been advised to upgrade before I go any further. I'm not sure what I'll make after the next stage of mods but the long term forecast is 600kw. I know it's technically only rated to 400kw but I really like it and want to hold onto it for as long as possible.

As for shifter I have an mgw on my t56 and it's awesome but I haven't compared to any others.
