Hi guys

Recently I had a brief check over the car and I found oil residue around the diff. I'm just wondering is it a big job to change the pinion seal? Does it require the diff to be emptied? Is there also a guide on how to change it?

Yes the seal change is relatively easy. And yes you gotta drop the oil. If you pm me your mobile number I will take a picture of the workshop guide.

Have you checked the oil level?

Just before you do, it's a very common thing for the little fitting on the diff breather hose to clog. This then builds pressure in the diff & weeps from the seal. I've had mine cleaned & a oil change, haven't had an issue. This is a common problem for all diffs on all rwd cars. I would start there before you go pulling everything apart (yuk)
