Speedo & Tacho - Falcon XR6 Vs Commodore SS?

the ss has a better speedo - for the simple reason that 100 kph is at the top of the dial - this makes it far easier to know your speed at a glance when watching for cameras etc - the needle is vertical therfore you don't have to take time to actually read the numbers. most cars have this arrangement and it is a pity the xr speedo is harder to read. also the redline on the tacho is also near, just past, the vertical - so when you are pushing hard you can tell at a glance that if the tach needle is vertical it's time for that change-up. these little things are important for a driver so top marks to Expensive Daewoo for their guages.

I also agree that the silver bezel on the xr is clutered with the extra markings - just not needed.

at night - no contest - the xr every time for looks.

definately SS by day, euro style. Blue XR by night is clearly visible and turns heads on multi lane carriage ways.

I am going to say what a few people may be thinking......

SS dash is tacky and sh*t, day and night just like the rest of the car,

And the XR dash is classy day and night.

No offence, but you would have to be legally blind not to be able to read the XR dash!

A workmate has the SS. I like the format of the cluster, but not the background markings.

The SS looks like someone has printed them on an inkjet printer and stuck them in the cluster.
