timetaker Donating Members 217 Member For: 14y 27d Gender: Male Posted 02/01/14 01:07 AM Share Posted 02/01/14 01:07 AM Just been reading some info on the XR8 in the mag.According to the mag the 310 kw F6 engine will go into retirement and 5.0 s/c engine will be fitted to the upcoming XR8.What I found strange was that the mag. mentions that FPV were testing a 351 kw version of the GT but decided against it because of potential diff issues and therefore warranty claims.So an 16kw extra could lead to diff issues,are they kidding ???Surely it would be such a burden on the diff?Since Ford are not going to use the F6 motor I've been thinking of buying the new XR8 rather than the XR6T because it would seem to be taken a step backwards from my F6? Would the new XR8 be more or less? Rough guesses only. 1 kW = 1.341hp 100kw = 134.1hp Your xr6t had 259rwkw and I give about 90hp of loss through the auto drive line.
