Hi,

I have had a small coolant leak for some time and probbaly used 1 L top up in 12 months, so not a lot. However when changing the oil yesterday I noticed some calcium type stuff built up on the sway bar and up higher on a wiring loom. Although I could not see where it come from looks like its somewhere under the turbo side of the engine. The heat shields and exhaust was blocking the view as to where it was coming from.

Is there any water hoses etc around (under) the turbo ?

XR6T FG

Thanks

There are coolant lines on the turbo which have copper rings to seal them. Also there are about 4 or 5 welsch plugs on the turboside of the engine block that can also corrode and leak.

There is also a bypass pipe on the back of the waterpump (turboside) which is sealed with a o-ring and is common place for coolant loss on these cars.
