Hi guys,

Bought my 2006 bf xr6 turbo a couple of months ago and have now started the process of getting modifications.

I bought the typhoon intercooler, 80lb injectors and now will get walbro pump and upgraded Turbosmart Wastegate actuator.

The tune will hopefully happen in about a month time at chequered tuning and will aim for 300rwk.

I will upload the results when done so stay tuned.

For the future I will upgrade to process west intercooler kit with dump and high flow cat upgrade and aim for 370-400rwk and probably upgrade the input shaft on zf trans.

You will need a cat.

Why chequered? Why not someone with more experience with these cars?

IMO the tune makes or breaks these cars and a lot of shops can't get it right.

Mate, I live in WA so I have no stake in anything east - and it is always your call and your money but, have a real hard look thru the build threads and site sponsors along with the amount of useful tech info businesses share with us. You go with who you think, of course, but people who tell you what worked and did not and get consistent and reliable power out of these cars is where you head. Short list starting to happen right now.

BTW, the cat and dump will need to go and you will need to modify the airbox - F6 type snorkel will suffice. Although others succeeded to get a consistent 300rwkw with the f6 cooler, I did not (intake temps too high.)

300 at the wheels is great - just a heap of fun for, really, stuff all bux.

Thanks guys

I have read stuff RE xr6 turbo and tuning and will ultimately go with my gut feel after I talk to some more tuners and money isn't going to restrict me as I know the tune makes o breaks the car.

I do have a cold air intake box with pod filter that replaced the restrictive standard box.

My mate's BF F6 typhoon has been comfortably running approx 15 psi at 310rwk for many 000's kms with no inlet temp issues or heat soak.

He had his car tuned at Blue power racing developments and I have yet had time to have a chat with them about a tune and will do now that I'm on holidays.

Chequered May be fantastic, I'm not bagging them but some tuners have been tuning there's since 2003 and still can't fluke a good tune. And once people's first tune isn't what they wanted we see them all the time throwing money at the car and then ultimately giving up and selling off.

If you do the Dump you may be up for an actuator and Port.

My last Pitlane tune was

id 1000s

Nizzy cooler

Surge

Hi flo cat

Turbo port and actuator

381rwkw@19psi. Stil has the x-over/ stock airbox/ exhaust etc.
