Hi All,

Was looking at getting these: http://www.ryda.com.au/Infinity-Kappa-680-9CS-5x7-270W-Split-Speakers-p/kappa6809cs.htm to put in the front of the ute.

I've got the "premium" sound with the factory tweeters.

When you get an after market jobby with the crossover boxes (if that is even the correct name for them), do you need to install them? Or just turf those out and just replace the speakers themselves and use the factory crossover?

Thanks

Definitely install the crossovers! They will be 10000 times better than sh*tty oem gear and the oem speakers may even just have a capacitor soldered onto the speaker itself which constitutes a crossover

take off the a pillar trims (the ones near the windscreen and the old tweeters will be mounted to a metal bracket bolted into the car. take off the old tweeters and sikaflex the new ones to the bracket. bolt bracket back in. be happy.

Thanks for all the tips.

Might grab a kicker hideaway sub thing... The amp in it does high and low level so I don't need to worry about a converter..

As far as splitting off from the rear speakers, do I just splice the wires heading in to the rears? Was figuring the quickest/easiest way was to do it at the speaker end unless that's a bad idea.
