Yeah I've been using the manual mode. I've also found that a little push of the throttle between 2->1 with give a few pops/crackles as the RPM's match up.

I have a 2011 G6ET and it occasionally has a rough idle (was much worse when I first got the car). It only does it in drive and is very random, motor can be hot or cold when it does it.
Cleaning the throttle body "seemed" to help a lot.

I remember reading about the intake cleaning before I bought the car. Looks like I'll have to spend some time on it one weekend. Plugs are under $12 each so I may just change them too.

I told Ford the gearbox didn't feel right, but they said there was nothing they could do (apart from a reset). I'll push them harder next time and say I'm still not happy. Definitely won't be footing the bill for it.

I had the same symptoms - turned out it was a thermo fan that was out of balance - only popped it's head up when the thermo's kicked in. Made it very hard to diagnose as most test drives didn't cause them to operate, yet a 600m drive from the milk bar would :S

^ I was quite surprised with both my B series car how bad the thermo fan vibration is.

Running the PCM KOEO test runs the fans and they vibrate enough to be felt through the steering wheel.

this roughness is more rhythmic, thermo's aren't running.

Would the pcv cause it? I have a really rough idle when I first start the car. Settles down after about a minute.

2 to 1 is a fine art due to the short first gear but 3 to 2 is great for inducing the burbles as you roll up at the lights :) I do it all the time! 4 to 3 not so much worth it due to the higher minimum speed of 4th but can still be a little amusing.

Just things to make the drive more involving/enjoyable when not having a manual car. Great when you get the perfect flawless rev match 3 to 2.

My stagea was horrid on fuel. 450 kays to a tank if I was lucky. Not quite 600 when I drove to Sydney. It used to backfire a lot. It was running really rich. But it's only fuel. Cruiser uses 19L/100 (this is the best average)

The Police aren't really fans of the pops and crackles, They like to sit on the off ramp of a motor way near where I live catching people speedng. It's a gentle down hill run to a set of lights. They could be jealous/curious as to how to make the XR6T patrol cars do it :busted1:
