Hey guys, I've been thinking of buying the HDi intercooler kit for my 2005 BA XR6T.
I was wondering if its worth buying and also if it connects onto the X piece above the engine or do I need to get a CAI from the turbo and relocate the battery?

Sorry if its a silly question.

Not a silly question bud, but seriously no offense don't Phuk around just go with a P.W cooler or even go the whole hog 1st time round on the intake system to the setup you would like if you do plan on going bigger.

I'm currently on my 4th intercooler and tbh I wish I cut the wasted cash, time and just went with the right one in the 1st place.

Nothing gheyer than seeing other cars with everything else the same other than cooler on the same dyno making a stack load more power just because he has spent the extra 300bux or whatever it is on the better product.

You think to yourself phuck I wish I didn't be a tight ass b4... Almost wanna sell up and do it yet again lol

Don't mess about with your cooler selection.

I'm not saying anything bad about other brands, just saying which intercooler I would choose if I had my time again.

Yea I know what you mean man, appreciate that advice. Most likely will head in that direction but im hoping to get 300-350 rwkw MAX.
I was just curious if the HDi Cooler will do the job or should I just get a P.W cooler.

Its a good question and never stop asking them.

I am with Kroozin and only wasted my dough on one intercooler ( The factory BF / F6 ) and one retune after it was fitted. Lucky, actually.

I now have a PW stage 1. It keeps the stock engine piping so the cops don't bother me ( the main reason for not going any further). It works well, supplies repeatable power and is a neat fit. Bux wise, it is affordable and the kit arrives on time, complete and with all instructions. There are competitors of course but good welding and finish makes me excited... exit two from the list

Do your sums, find a tuner. Then: Change the I/C for a good unit that is named on the forum, big time injectors, change the pump, do the F6 intake ( cheap as these days) and do the dump and cat with a stock system.

Unless you are used to hi-po cars, the end result will make your eyballs stand on end.

I went for a drive the other day in a car that just had a good cooler standard piping and cat with injectors and a pump and the thing was freakin quick. I was stoked at how well it went. The 1st bits to get over 300 are relatively cheap, just don't skimp on the cooler and you'll have your cake and eat it

Cheers guys I will most likely go the PW Stage 1 or 2 FMIC. been talking to a mechanic and hes going to help me get over the 300rwkw mark nice and safely which is good and im really looking forward too!
first time I am going to seriously mod my car and I am really excited.

sad thing is I havent been in a car over 300rwkw and I have no idea what to expect which is lame lol

Really appreciate your help guys, you have made this alot easier for me.
