The most common choices for a bigger turbo would be a GTX3582r or a new core with a larger and better designed impeller. These aren't normally supplied with a rear housing, they fit the stock rear housing.

If you want a smashtheboost 23inthemid weeeeeeeee tune then the stock wastegate setup will be fine. But if you want to run lower boost and have a free flowing exhaust then the stock wastegate will do a poor job.

It all depends really, obviously Ratter is going to prefer a good port job as it will make it a lot easier for him to tune the thing.

Get Rob to Port the housing n fit bigger actuator.

You keep the housing for future upgrade on turbo.

Your mods suggest way more power, with that come boost, right?

The need to control the boost is critical, hence the porting.

Rob will tune your car so everything is operating as best it can with what you have.

Doesnt mean to maximum potential, as he will be limited with boost control.

matsfgxr6turbo, it's not about money, it's about having correct boost control and happy customers, Bels G6ET makes 320+ rwkw on 12 psi, yet I see lots of of FG's making similar or less power with 18 psi in the mid, why?

unless you know what boost and what duty cycle on the wastegate, you have no idea about what is going on

12 psi is enough to spin them easily, many people do not realise that every time you have to pedal due to wheel spin, you will loose a few tenth's, having a wheel spin beast is good for showing off but does not make a quick car

Ratter is the factory FG Wastegate setup a problem even on stock exhaust tuning wise?

I had mine tuned with factory wastegate with no mods and it made about 320rwkw but on 16 PSI in Mid range tappering off to about 12 or 10 in top end.

I assume if Catback exhaust will make the stock turbo overboost or be unstable, that must suggest on FG The factory exhaust is a restriction even with the factory turbo Yes? and upgrading would give better power delivery? I normally thought the cat back is sufficient as it's 3" Mandrel for most part except behind drivers floor.

And as for the original question here Yes fit all the parts yourself and get the car towed.

Leave the dump pipe off that way it's easier and less time consuming for them to take your turbo off

to mod the wastegate.

problems or no problems, it varies according to what boost is desired, if you want to run 12 psi and can't get it down to this then there is a problem, if you want to run 18 and you can get this with control left then all is acceptable
