Wednesdays not real good for me as I'll be out at the drags, don't let that stop you from  though!

I hope I'm not overstepping the mark here, but the following is what Ernie said when he got back to me today:

hey Pat,

been home about 2 weeks now and doing ok. its still a bit of a struggle to do things but I am getting stronger every day.

just time I guess I can say mate......

dont worry mate I too am missing the cruises and the BBQ's with the boys but I wont be eating any snags or steaks when I come back out again. im on a strict and I mean strict diet and can only have one dud day a week which is good as im getting used to eating health food.

alot of this sickness was due to stressing out about my mum dying on the 2nd of june and I just let myself go big time ( could give a f*ck attitude )

when I was admitted to westmead I was 210 kgs ( f*cking massive mate ) and ive lost 65 kgs to date and losing more every week. it was a huge wake up call mate as my heart isnt as good as it used to be due to my own stupidity.

anyway on the up and up........ im well on my way to a good health and speedy recovery.

Ern

Either way, the bloke is still keen as on his T - and that's the important thing right?

Ok...Monday night it is....8.30pm for a 9.00pm start at Caltex Heathcote...we will do the same route only round the other way this time...

Depending on how long we spend sitting on our backsides at Maccas, the route shouldnt take longer than about an hour and a half actual driving time so we should all still be tucked up in bed at a reasonable hour.

While I appreciate that having as many members as possible is a favourable deal with most cruises, it showed last Friday night, (and the rain made it even worse), that the more runners there is, the harder it is to keep everyone together as a group and yet still maintain enough safe distance between the cars as some of our members are a little more ....err.... conservative... than others....and, to be honest, I dont feel that Monday night will be like your average Sunday arvo family deal...get my meaning..

Originally, this idea started when Steve (mercuryturbo) said he was going to go on his own, not wanting him to get lonely, I said I would go with him, then others wanted to come along too, which Ive got no problem with, provided they realise that there are stages on this route where we can give our cars a bit of a squirt with relative safety (whilst still using common sense of course) and having to stop and wait for stragglers can be a little bit frustrating.....

Over to you guys.....

Mercury, myself, senna, rapid, ryan and maybe Iconic and Robbo will be there..who else?

Oh, and ravenhard....I will be putting a couple more of these night deals together, especially as summer gets closer and the weather gets more favourable...so dont feel left out ok... :blaah:

Agreed, after driving my car for the last couple of days I have come to realise that 1st and 2nd gear are useless in the dry let alone the wet!

Last weekend! Crusie through the Cotter, was a good run. If I can handle 560kw at the treads in the wet, with a live axle rear end, in a car built 20 years ago, you bunch of shaft beaters can handle, what, 400 at the rears in a 5 year old car, methinks.....

Its a tad harder for me to attend Friday night cruises in Sydney when:

a) I live nearly 300klms away, and

b) I work Friday nights.

Make a cruise on a Saturday night and im there. IVe only been saying that for the last friggin 18 months!
