Mine would be fine for first minute or two when the engine is cold and then kick in exactly as you said.As Mick said it could also relate to the timing jumping a tooth. Inlet cam timing solenoid or exhaust.I wonder if these faults always show up fault codes cause my FG does the rough idle in the morning then is fine after 20 seconds. They said it was possible that the cam had jumped a tooth, hopefully I'll have a full diagnosis by this afternoon. They mentioned that they had seen jumped teeth on the B series cars, not too many on the FG's though. The car has indeed jumped a tooth (spot on ratter) and needs to be adjusted. The mechanic has recommended replacing the chain and the tensioner to reduce the risk of the problem reoccurring any time soon. Is that the usual fix?
