Shazzy,

I'll start getting some details together and see what I can organise. I know the XR club of QLD get their own area and they get to drive all the way in. If we can get some decent numbers, I'll see if QLD raceway will let us have our own little section.

The road to Woodenbong from Beaudesert along the Mt Lyndsay is awesome winding hilly & seldom travelled, but you'd be retruning straight away to lunch back in Beauy as Wooden thingo is um a sh*thole

The top bit of the Summerland Way, up around Mt Lindsy etc is also a brilliant drive, lots of first and second gear twisties Scotty...BUT watch for log trucks, you would NEED to have a car with a big CB in the lead, no other way about it :w00t2:

I think the Woodenbong-Beaudesert kinda hooks onto the Summerland Way up that way :censored:

I drive that stretch 5 days a week in my ute; and have done so for the past 3 years.

The comment regarding the log trucks is very valid (but usually only at certain times of the day). The roads are pretty bad and there's usually some half-arsed council job being done (so it would be best to check for this beforehand). Trust me; the way they fix the roads out there is to throw some little blue rocks of death across the road on a blind corner with a sign about 10m beforehand so that you have heaps of time to prepare for a 4 wheel side around the corner....

Let me know the time you are preparing to do this so I can give an all clear :)

......... Come to think of it, if people wanted to do a pinic thing for lunch half way there is a very nice camping/park spot called Bigriggin on the way (about 7 minutes off the main road); good for a BBQ and game of cricket etc. Only a thought (because Beauy is pretty non-eventful as for lunch IMHO).

What about a cruise up to the sunshine coast hinterland and on the way back pull in at the big kart track for a bit of extra fun :spoton:

Maybe ring in advance and book it so there is enough karts for us :drivingalong:

I'm still pushing for the Mount Lyndsay route, have spoken to the sole CC regarding this.
