Might not be knock

Could be excessive cylinder pressure, you should hear knock, could just be age, could be a faulty stud..

Will ask how the pistons look when the head is off

Ill evebtually go with those high comp forgies that spool recomend.

High comp does wonders if youre on e85 and I look forward to seeing results

Fact!

Update time

Got the g6 back from cms after a long two weeks away

The head gasket had actually failed not the head lifting

Full Service on the head, checked everything out. And everything is back together and working, which is nice

The fuel pumps were working perfectly however a seal on it failed and the filters on the pump got clogged,

Unfortunately I spilt diff fluid in the boot and the smell is still hanging around, absolutely putrid.

I will be planning on taking it off the road for a few months while I do the gearbox swap, build and engine (still havent decided on pistons) and rebush everything

But imma just throw some e85 in and enjoy it for a while

Wasn't happy when they stopped selling e85 at the servo near Wyong golf course , until I realised  they installed a new pump at budgewoi ( which is closer to home)

  I'm guessing you mainly use the pump at ourimbah ?

Yeah I travel up to ourimbah but its a joke atm, its around $1.25, Eflex at west gosford is <$1.00 (was 90c per litre last time I checked)
