So first sort of big issue.

I wouldnt call it a break down but its done it 3 times now

Once running on e85 once on 98 and once on e10.

Car drives fine then starts to lose power then if I use more than min throttle and starts misfiring and spluttering and has zero power.

Timing drops right down to between -2 to 8 degrees, boost at zero psi and really starts coughing and popping

I pull over, idle sounds okayish and then I rev it and it splutters and sounds like its dropped a cylinder or two.

Heres the wierd part

Let it sit for 5 and shes all good again, any ideas??

Planning to change spark plugs and coils anyway tomorrow as part of the service but could it be anything else

This has only happened 3 times in the last year. Surely a split hose would cause far more dramas?

Why would I lose all timing?

Iam only spit balling mate, normally to hard to diagnose cars over the interwebs

Rapid erattic timing is typical for the engine in a freefall mode or trying to maintain what a mechanical part might be letting down

Need to see/feel/log the car when something like this happens

Yeah its true

I never thought id be the kinda guy that posts that but here we are

Its a just bizaire that its done it so infrequently with different weather.

I was thinking possibly a gummed up throttle body and/or plugs and/or coils and/or fuel filter

She just hit 165000kms so im doing all those things anyway and hopefully it doesnt come back

Well look fg's typically don't do coil packs but my F6 needed them at ~120,000kms

T/B

Plugs

Coils

Fuel filter

Manifold bolts/gaskets are all cheap items that a falcon can use so start there as it seems the donk could use that gear anyway at those kms

Then see where your at

New gaskets are cheap and then you can tick them off the list for a start

New bolts can never hurt

Always genuine coils even for FG
